Manufactured on the 24th of January 1963 this lovely Jaguar E-Type was despatched to Jaguar Cars New York USA on the 7th of February 1963. The first owner was Mr E Burling.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust production record certificate confirms that the chassis number is 888171, engine number R9972-9, gearbox number EB8986JS. The body style was Fixed-Head Coupe in LHD. Originally Opalescent Silver Grey with red interior.

The current owner purchased the Jaguar in 2015 via a classic car dealer in Connecticut USA and re imported into the UK, it has been UK DVLA registered as NWT 504A.

Upon arrival in the UK, it had been painted Opalescent dark green, so it was decided to restore it using the same Jaguar Opalescent dark green but this time with the Suede Green interior. The complete trimming was conducted by the well known Aldridge trimmers in Wolverhampton.

When imported the car was complete with its original matching engine and gearbox but the body needed major restoration. The body was restored and painted by Normandale Refinishing in Daventry with relevant new panels supplied to them by Martin Robey.

The gearbox and final drive were completely rebuilt by Racing Transmissions in Marlborough, the engine was stripped and rebuilt using the original parts but with all new internals as required.

Every part of the E-Type was either restored or replaced with a like for like original component. The completed nut and bolt restoration is to the highest standards with no regard to the number of hours required to achieve the best result. Today it would be impossible to purchase a complete Jaguar E-Type series one 3.8 and restore it to this standard for the asking price.

Since completion in 2021 the E-Type has only had approximately five hundred miles of running in and is in outstanding condition ready to be enjoyed

£145000.
